Pennsylvania Sees Larger Than Expected Revenues from Working with CSPs

State Tax Notes reported (subscription required) that Pennsylvania has realized sales tax revenues that are much higher than were estimated after the state enacted a marketplace facilitator law—three times more than originally predicted by revenue estimators.

Pennsylvania Revenue Secretary C. Daniel Hassell in testimony to the House Appropriations Committee said working with Certified Service Providers "will make it easier for certain individuals and businesses selling products on their own websites to Pennsylvania customers to comply with their Pennsylvania sales tax obligations, and further extend the Department's ability to collect all of the sales tax that is due.”
